Queen Anne’s School, Henley Road, Caversham, Berkshire RG4 6DX (just across the River Thames from Reading) has excellent facilities and transport links. There is plenty of parking on site and the school is just one mile from Reading Station, with trains and buses from just about anywhere in the country including London Paddington, Oxford, Bristol, Birmingham and Gatwick airport, and a rail-air bus link from Heathrow airport.

The campus is compact with modern accommodation including spacious common rooms and a lovely new dining hall. Most of the playing rooms, including the brand new music department, the main school hall and the chapel, are in the horseshoe-shaped main school building arranged around the grassy Quad; nearly all are on the ground floor with wheelchair access.

Accommodation is in two new purpose-built houses, close to the main school, in single or twin bedrooms. There are a limited number of en-suite rooms, which will be allocated to those who apply first! The other rooms all have washbasins, with showers nearby. Wheelchair-accessible bedrooms are available.

Special dietary requirements can be catered for if notified in advance. Wine, beer and soft drinks will be available at meals and in the common room in the evenings.

There is free WiFi throughout the site and we should have use of the newly-refurbished swimming pool before breakfast and in the afternoon free period, when a lifeguard will be in attendance.  There is also table-tennis on the lawn outside the common rooms.

The grounds are large, green and leafy (35 acres in total) but the school is only ¼ mile from shops, pubs and restaurants.  The picturesque village of Sonning is situated on the River Thames only two miles from the school, with several charming pubs and restaurants. The riverside town of Henley on Thames is only five miles away and there are interesting National Trust properties nearby. The Thames Path runs alongside the Thames passing about ½ mile from the school and at Sonning Eye, 1½ miles from the school, there is a nature reserve which has lovely walks around the lakes.
